The TemplatePower forum was hacked for the second time within a half year. I'm realy angree! There is no honor in doing this especially the day before Christmas. What is the fun about it? You find a bug in phpBB, or you just read it somewhere on internet, and think let's google all sites that has that same version and hack them. Ones you have hacked one i'm sure you can hack a second or a third one, but what the fun! Let there be no mistake about it, i'm agains hackers who do harm to a website or computer systems. I have less trouble with hackers who find a security bug and let you know about it by for example placing an "innocent" link/image on that website.
Anyway the forum is up and running again!

Guest posting is still enabled, not a good thing...
Well some people find it funny. It's one of the reasons why there is no version numbering anymore in the footer. It was to easy to find the version number with a specific exploit. |

Why don't you use any other forum?
PhpBB is not the best solution, I think. |

I haven't thought of that option.  If it is hacked a third time then I will use an other forum, that's for sure. |

I have a temporary solution for retrieving information which was to be found on this forum.
go to www.google.com
and type your searchterms there, after which you type site:templatepower.codocad.com
for example:
assign string site:templatepower.codocad.com
Google will show you a couple of pages on which your searchterms are present. Do not click on the link, instead, click on In cache. Google indexed all pages of this website and stored them into it's cache. This is also the reason why this solution is only temporary. After the next indexation, Google's cache will be emptied.
Perhaps one of the volunteers can copy those messages and paste them into this forum. |

Backup the forum once in a while 
Every person knows that there are bugs in a forum or
website or your browser or even windows, wich are not found yet,
but will be found by hackers. Those will abuse it. Always be sure to
backup your database, your files on the server.. Everything!

maybe you should make backups more often.. :p
next forum, make it either custom, or SMF or something.. |
